Christmas Reading Chain

Our annual Christmas Reading Chain promotion wrapped up yesterday. The elementary students turned in 874 chain links in the past 4 weeks. This represents over 13,000 minutes read in the past month. Not all students turned in links so I am sure that our actual reading time was considerably more. Special recognition goes to Kyle D (and his parents) in K2 for turing in 49 links and to Julissa B in third for turning in 46. Students who turned in 18 or more links (representing 4 1/2 hours) will receive a bag of Christmas caramel corn. There were 19 who acheived this award. The chain started above the library office door, went around the library (over the back door) and stopped just short of the computer work stations. Hopefully next year we can get it even further.
