First Elementary Research Projects coming to a close

After over a month of hard work - reading sources and taking notes - the third and fifth grades are in the final stages of their Bats research project. After all the notes are taken and the outline written, we encourage them to match their note cards to the outline points. Then comes the task of putting them all in order - the library floor is a very handy place to do this. After note cards are in order students will start their rough drafts. Sometimes this process is challenging - it is the first time some of them have researched and written a paper and it takes a bit before they "get it." But once that light bulb goes on, it makes future research projects not so difficult.
