It was a busy week in the library last week. After wrapping up the book fair, we jumped back in to our regular activities. During library time, the kindergarten classes worked on ABC order - the first step in learning to put books in their proper place on the library shelves.

On Friday, the Humane Society of Southern New Mexico came and presented each of our elementary classes with some books related to dogs. Mrs. Gilbert read a story to each group and shared with them about appropriate animal. Care. We are thankful for these donations to our classroom libraries.

On Friday the fifth graders came to the library to organize their note cards in preparation for writing their first research paper of the year. We had spent several weeks researching together and writing note cards in an effort to help them learn the research process.

To finish off the week our first computer science club had its first meeting - CS First - Art is for grades 4-8. We have 10 participants. On each Friday we have school for the rest of the semester, these students will be learning more about computer programming. It is a challenge for some, but hopefully they will learn from the club.
